US Citizenship
Naturalization is the process through which an immigrant to the United States can become a U.S. citizen. Only certain immigrants are eligible: those who either have been green card holders (permanent residents) for 3 or 5 years or meet various military service requirements.
Permanent Resident
3 years married to US citizen or have your green card for 5 years.
Genuine Relationship
Evidence showing relationship is real if applying based on marriage.
Physical Presence
Proof of physical presence in US. 548 days or 913 days in the US.
Continuous Residence
Proof of continuous presence in US. No trips over 6 months.
Pass English Test
Pass English language test.
Pass Civics Test
Pass Civics test showing knowledge of US history and government.
Tax Returns
Must bring 3 or 5 years of tax filings to your citizenship interview.
